Frequently
Asked Questions
What's the best way to get to Westport?
Swim - definetly swim.
The best way to get to Westport is by car. From Seattle or Sea-Tac, plan on roughly 2.5 to 3 hours depending on traffic, usually heading south toward Olympia, then west through Aberdeen before dropping into Westport on the coast. From Portland, it’s typically about 3 to 3.5 hours north and west through southwest Washington. Once you’re here, having a vehicle makes it easier to reach the beaches, marina, surf spots, state parks, seafood stops, and nearby coastal towns.
For guests flying in, Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) is usually the most convenient major airport, with Portland International Airport (PDX) as a strong secondary option. Public transit is possible through regional connections, including Grays Harbor Transit, but for a surf trip, fishing weekend, or coastal adventure, driving is by far the cleanest move. Grays Harbor Transit serves Westport and offers regional routes plus HarborFLEX/Dial-a-Ride service in Westport.
What time is check-in and check-out?
Probably good info to know...
Check-in begins at 4 PM & check-out is at 11 AM. Need a late checkout? Just check with the front desk, and if we can't approve it for your room, you can still store your luggage with us for as long as you need.
Where is Gravity Haus located?
Down by the beach!
Gravity Haus Westport is located close to the beach side of town and just a quick drive from Westport’s core adventure zones. You’re near Twin Harbors Beach, Westhaven State Park, Westport Light State Park, the Marina District, and the main surf breaks around The Jetty, The Groins, and Half Moon Bay | The Cove.
Surf-wise, think of Gravity Haus as a mellow inland launch point: close enough to roll out for a dawn check, but tucked away from the wind-whipped parking-lot circus. The Jetty is the main call for consistent surf, The Groins are more serious and current-sensitive, and The Cove | Half Moon Bay is better treated as a dramatic wave-watching zone when the swell gets big.
Here's our location information, or check your reservation confirmation for the exact address + easiest route, especially during winter conditions.
Is parking available?
Yes, it's included with your stay!
It's also pretty much free everywhere around town.
Do you have surfboard or gear storage?
We does.
Your room is definitely equipped to store your boards & bikes if you're the type who likes to cuddle your gear to sleep like we do - but we also have racks and storage area throughout the property and. at the front desk, just ask!
Can I store my bags before check-in or after check-out?
For sure, epic El Niño swells wait for no one.
Bag storage is available if you need to head straight to the surf before check-in (or after check-out for one last mission).
Just drop your bags with the front desk.
Is the property pet-friendly?
Good boys - good vibes.
We have dog-ready rooms and common areas throughout the property. Pet fees do apply & can be paid for at booking.
*no pet fees for members
Is there a hot tub, sauna, or cold plunge?
Oh yes.
We have the trilogy! (that means we've got it all friends) After a session of battling some brisk northwest swells, give your body a nice soak in the tub, and then a few laps in the sauna and cold plunge to keep your muscles fresh to do it again tomorrow.
Do you offer breakfast?
Of course. It's still the most important meal of the day right?
Start your morning right with a perfectly pulled espresso at Unravel Coffee - our haus coffee purveyor & roaster. Once the coffee has set in, you can fuel up on light snacks to beasty breakfast burritos - feel free to grab them to go on your way to the beach or into town.
Is there an on-site restaurant or bar?
Well we don't expect you to forage for your food...that's our job.
Actually foraging is a blast if you haven't tried it - that said, Unravel Café & Bar is equipped with everything from coffee to cocktails, local brews, and burritos. We also have stocked on-site grills and kitchens for your own cook outs & crab bakes. Just reserve one at the front desk - and feel free to shoot us an invite if there's oysters...
Is there Wi-Fi? Is it good enough for remote work?
Yes, this is Washington, not Canada.
Wi-Fi is standard & Gravity Haus stays are designed with modern travelers in mind. If you need higher reliability (video calls, uploads), ask about the fastest connectivity areas or head into our dedicated coworking space.
Do you have a coworking space?
Yes, it's a coastal coworking dream.
Channel your inner Hemingway and hole up at our little coworking oasis on the coast. Spacious shared lounges and a bookable conference room if you need to get down to some serious business - or sprawl out with your work. WiFi, lots of coffee, and there's a bar...AND you're next to the surf when the tide is perfect.
Want unlimited coworking? Explore our membership options.
Do you have surfboard rentals?
Yup, we've got a surf shop on site with all the goodies.
Whether you're travelling light, a beginner, or need a board to hit the surprise swell - the Surf Shack in Westport has a board for you.
Rentals are available to the public, first come - first boarded. Feel free to call ahead to reserve a board and learn about exclusive deals for guests.
*Gravity Haus Members can also check the app for the lastest rental deals, local perks, etc.
Can I ship my gear to Gravity Haus?
Send it.
You're welcome to ship items to the property, just give us a call to let us know. Please note that any shipping costs will be covered by you, through the carrier of your choice.
What’s the cancellation policy?
Plans change, we get it.
Cancellation terms depend on rate type and season. The most accurate policy is the one attached to your booking confirmation (refundable vs. prepaid, blackout periods, etc.).
Do you have quiet hours?
We're all here for a good time & some good sleep too.
Most hotels observe quiet hours to keep the vibes mellow at night. If you’re traveling with a rowdy group, feel free to call ahead about optimal room placements to keep everyone happy.
Is smoking allowed?
Fresh Pacific Northwest air only baby.
Most modern properties are non-smoking indoors (and often non-smoking on balconies/patios). If you need designated areas, ask the front desk.
How do I contact the property?
Fast answers, no runaround.

What are the best things to do in Westport?
Other than crush crustaceans & tasty waves?
Westport is built around saltwater - so we'll start there. Surf The Jetty, book a charter fishing trip, eat fresh seafood by the marina, walk Westport Light State Park, explore Half Moon Bay, beachcomb at Twin Harbors, watch winter storms roll in, go crabbing or clamming when conditions allow, and take the scenic drive south toward Grayland and Tokeland. It’s also one of the best places in Washington to learn cold-water surfing, with consistent waves, on-site board rentals, lessons, and breaks for a range of ability levels.
For a classic Westport day: surf early, warm up with coffee, wander the marina, eat something that came off a boat, check the lighthouse, then post up for sunset with sand in your shoes, a Vitamin R in hand, and no real reason to rush.
Feel free to ask your barista or bartender (probably the same person) for the latest local itinerary & where to go for a good time - they know what they're talking about.
