Frequently
Asked Questions
What's the best way to get to Alta Crystal?
Just hop in your car and go.
The best way to get to Gravity Haus Alta Crystal is by car. From Seattle, Tacoma, or Sea-Tac Airport, head toward Enumclaw, then follow Highway 410 east through Greenwater toward Crystal Mountain and Mount Rainier. The drive gets prettier the farther you go — and in winter, AWD or 4WD is strongly recommended. Mountain weather moves fast out here, so check road conditions before you roll.
What time is check-in and check-out?
Probably good info to know...
Check-in begins at 4 PM & check-out is at 11 AM. Need a late checkout? Just check with the front desk, and if we can't approve it for your room, you can still store your luggage with us for as long as you need.
Where is Gravity Haus located?
Down by the beach!
Alta Crystal is a true mountain basecamp, so having your own car is the way to go. You can walk the property trails, hang by the fire pits, pool, and hot tub, then drive a few minutes to Crystal Mountain or nearby Mount Rainier trail access. Rideshare is limited in this area, and winter road conditions can be real, so come prepared and give yourself extra time.
Here's our location information, or check your reservation confirmation for the exact address + easiest route, especially during winter conditions.
Is parking available?
Yes, it's included with your stay!
We would be insane to charge for parking after making you drive all the way out here into the woods.
Do you have gear storage?
We does.
Your room is definitely equipped to store your gear if you're the type who likes to cuddle your gear to sleep like we do - but we also have a storage area at the front desk, just ask!
Can I store my bags before check-in or after check-out?
For sure, powder dayswait for no one.
Bag storage is available if you need to head straight to Crystal Mountain before check-in (or after check-out for one last mission).
Just drop your bags with the front desk.
Is the property pet-friendly?
Good boys - good vibes.
We have dog-ready rooms and common areas throughout the property. Pet fees do apply & can be paid for at booking.
*no pet fees for members
Is there a hot tub or pool?
Oh yes.
And they're heated...the hot tub obviously, but a heated pool float after a day ripping pow lines at Crystal or hiking Rainier is one of the best parts of staying here.
Do you offer breakfast?
Yes, but you're the chef.
Our Camp Store has some quick-fix options and ingredients so you can head back to your kitchen or camp stove and finish things up how you like them.
Is there an on-site restaurant or bar?
Just the Camp Store...for now.
Our Camp Store is equipped with just about everything you need to battle the munchies, and we plan on expanding our offerings soon.
Is there Wi-Fi? Is it good enough for remote work?
Yes, this is Washington, not Canada.
Wi-Fi is standard & Gravity Haus stays are designed with modern travelers in mind. If you need higher reliability (video calls, uploads), ask about the fastest connectivity areas or head into our dedicated coworking space.
Do you have a coworking space?
Most people work in their rooms, but the Camp Store lounge works too.
All rooms have speedy WiFi and comfortable spaces inside and out for you to put your feet up and get some work done - but if you need to get out really quick, our Camp Store lounge and property common areas have WiFI too.
Want unlimited coworking? Explore our membership options.
Do you have gear rentals?
Nothing on-site, but there are lots of rental options for ski gear at Crystal Mountain and outfitters in town.
If you forgot some gear, don't sweat it too much - there are lots of outfitters in town for grabbing last minute items and Crystal Mountain has rental shops and retailers for all the snow gear you need.
*Gravity Haus Members can also check the app for the lastest rental deals, local perks, etc.
Can I ship my gear to Gravity Haus?
Send it.
You're welcome to ship items to the property, just give us a call to let us know. Please note that any shipping costs will be covered by you, through the carrier of your choice.
What’s the cancellation policy?
Plans change, we get it.
Cancellation terms depend on rate type and season. The most accurate policy is the one attached to your booking confirmation (refundable vs. prepaid, blackout periods, etc.).
Do you have quiet hours?
We're all here for a good time & some good sleep too.
Most hotels observe quiet hours to keep the vibes mellow at night. If you’re traveling with a rowdy group, feel free to call ahead about optimal room placements to keep everyone happy.
Is smoking allowed?
Fresh Pacific Northwest air only baby.
Most modern properties are non-smoking indoors (and often non-smoking on balconies/patios). If you need designated areas, ask the front desk.
How do I contact the property?
Fast answers, no runaround.

What are the best things to around Alta Crystal?
Other than some exclusive PNW forest bathing?
The best things to do near Alta Crystal start with Crystal Mountain and Mount Rainier. In winter, ski, snowboard, snowshoe, or post up for a cozy mountain weekend. In summer and fall, hike, trail run, explore the Sunrise and White River side of Mount Rainier, take in alpine lakes and wildflower meadows, or ride the Crystal Mountain gondola for one of the best Rainier views in the region. Then come back for the pool, hot tub, fire pits, and a quieter night in the trees.
Feel free to ask our staff for the latest local itinerary & where to go for a good time - they know what they're talking about.
