Spoil Your Pup in Breckenridge this Summer

Here’s where to stay, play, eat and more in dog-friendly Breckenridge.

Our dogs love playing in the outdoors too. Pets are a large part of our lives and we want them by our sides on the trails, at hotels and on afternoon patios. We’ve dug up the best pet-friendly activities and restaurants in Breckenridge for you and your pup to wag about.

Dog-Friendly Lodging at Gravity Haus Breckenridge

We’re all about the pup perks at Gravity Haus and, when we can, we don’t travel without our four-legged best friends. Which is why we have crafted each Haus in Breckenridge, Winter Park and Vail to be the best in Colorado dog-friendly lodging. Upon arrival, dogs can get their photo taken and “sign” the doggie guest book, as well as get set up with their own in-room doggie bed, bowl and treats. Dog-friendly rooms are available and must be booked in advance with the hotel. Our pet fee is $50/night per dog for non-members and $25/night for Gravity Haus members!

Carter Park

The king of dog parks, this fully fenced, off-leash area sits just four blocks east of Main Street Breckenridge and offers a separate small dog section. Take in stunning views of the Ten Mile Range while you toss the Frisbee.

BreckConnect Gondola

Take your pup on a free gondola ride from the center of town to the bases of peaks 7 and 8. You’ll soar upward for 13 minutes and gain access to hiking trails and a fun dog-friendly yappy hour at Seven’s restaurant.

The Blue River

Walk your pooch along the scenic Blue River through dog-friendly downtown Breckenridge and dip your toes in the cool water while Fido plays fetch.

Main Street Breckenridge

Many stores along adorable historic Main Street Breck welcome dogs or have water bowls outside. Be sure to pop into art gallery and artists boutique Mountainkind and say hi to the smiling shop dog, Ryder.

Breckenridge Farmers Market

Visit the Sunday farmers market at Main Street Station this summer starting June 12. Stroll around with your leashed pup and sample the freshest homegrown products (don’t miss the beef jerky stand).

Animal Lover’s Pet Supply

Book a grooming appointment or hit up the self-service dog wash after a muddy hike at this shop just north of town. Pick up some dog toys, healthy snacks and organic CBD treats while you’re there.

Peak-a-Boo Toys

This popular locally owned toy store is for four-legged kids, too. Peruse an entertaining selection of dog treats and plush or squeaky toys and spoil your very good boy.

Moonstone and Sunbeam Trails

Breckenridge is heaven for dogs who love sniffing around and romping in the woods. Get your heart rates up and access forested Moonstone and Sunbeam trails from the dog park at Carter Park.

Mohawk Lake

For a longer and more challenging dog-friendly hike, head south of town and trek to Mohawk Lake. Pack a lunch to sit and take in the cascading waterfall at the top.

Sawmill Trail

A quick classic accessible from town, stroll through the shaded woods off Four O’Clock Road and stop for dips in the rushing creek along the way.

Peaks Trail

Park at the trailhead near Peak 7 and head into the forest for a gorgeous dog-friendly hike from Breckenridge to Frisco. It’s 7 miles one way, so make sure your pup is up for the high-altitude challenge.

The Canteen

When your paws are tired after a day of Breckenridge adventures, pull up a seat on the sunny dog-friendly patio at the Canteen and order a burger and a Colorado-brewed pint.

Unravel Café

Afternoon iced coffees and snacks are best enjoyed on the comfy dog-friendly patio at Gravity Haus. People (and dog) watch from your perch on buzzing Park Avenue.

Broken Compass

The original taproom off of Airport Road is made for dogs and beer lovers. Sit outside at a picnic table and grill something while your dog takes advantage of the treats and oversized water bowls.

Kenosha Steakhouse

For a dog-friendly happy hour on a deck with a view, Kenosha is a must. Ask about the rotating local craft brews and barbecue specials.

RMU

Sip cocktails and watch Main Street go by on the front patio or chill out back in the beer garden for live music and yard games. Both are dog-friendly.

Pro tip: For tasty homemade dog treats (and baked goodies for humans), stop by Cool River Coffee House or Clint’s Bakery on Main Street Breckenridge.
