Earth Day 2026: How Gravity Haus Protects the Outdoors

The Gravity Haus Team likes to celebrate Earth Day by doing what we do every other day of the year: we honor the mountains, rivers, animals, plants, trails, and surf that make adventuring worth it. From Moab’s red rock canyons and the peaks above Jackson Hole, to Truckee's alpine waters and the salty shores of the Pacific Northwest - we offer you some mother earth focused mantras we live by, and how you can hop on the appreciate train with us.

Every summit you’ve put boots on, every paddle stroke through crisp dawn white water, these are not just righteous rituals of recreation - they are a relationship. One that asks something of us in return. And on Earth Day, we want to talk honestly about what we’re doing to hold up our end of the deal.

Gravity Haus was built for intrepid people who's peak joy is enjoying the outdoors. Which means we have a responsibility that goes beyond recycling bins and reusable $100 stainless-steel canteens. It means weaving real environmental accountability into how we build, operate, eat, and move through the landscapes and ecosystems we love. Every Gravity Haus membership is built around that ethos.

Our Sustainability Commitments

Across all ten of our adventure destinations, from Breckenridge to Revelstoke, sustainability isn’t a campaign. It’s embedded in how we operate every day.

LOW-IMPACT PROPERTY DESIGN

Our properties are purpose-built to minimize our overall footprint — each Gravity Haus property is reimagined and repurposed, we implement energy-efficient systems, responsibly sourced materials, and all in a effort that preserves the local, natural habitat. We design around the land, not over it.

LOCAL & SEASONAL FOOD

From Cabin Juice in Breckenridge to Wild Pine in Jackson Hole, our restaurants prioritize local sourcing, seasonal menus, and reduced food waste. Good food and a lighter, healthier footprint are the same thing.

HUMAN POWERED EXPLORATION

We champion experiences that put you in direct contact with nature without bulldozing it - hiking & trail running, climbing & paddleboarding, surfing tasty waves, backcountry skiing. The best adventures leave no trace. Well maybe sometimes you leave a little skin on the reef.

CONSERVATION PARTNERSHIPS

We partner with land stewards and conservation organizations at every destination we call home. Protecting public lands isn’t a side project - it’s core to who we are.

SMARTER MOBILITY

Expanding EV charging at our properties and partnering on shuttle options between Colorado destinations and beyond - Members save 20% on rides with our transporation partner Mountain Ready Rides, to and from our Colorado mountain locations.

What Can You Do?

Earth Day forces a moment of reckoning. But the conversation has to continue not just on April 22nd, but every excursion after. Here’s how to carry it forward on your next Gravity Haus experience, expedition, or if you're curious about what you can do as a eco-concious modern day explorer:

  • Choose gear wisely.  Buy less, buy better. Support brands transparent about supply chains. Repair before you replace.
  • Follow Leave No Trace.  Pack out everything, stay on marked trails, and respect wildlife. The backcountry is a living ecosystem - don't touch the turtles.
  • Offset your travel.  We don’t believe in outdoor guilt - but we do believe in honest accounting. Support verified carbon offset programs or plant some trees.
  • Vote for public land.  Local elections have direct impact on trail access, water rights, and open space. Your vote matters more than you think.
  • Stay curious.  Follow land stewardship organizations in every destination you visit, question sources and be critical. Knowledge is the first act of conservation.

“We’re not trying to save the planet from a boardroom. We’re protecting the places that make life worth living...”

This Earth Day, we’re grateful. For the powder, the granite, clean uncrowded tropical a-frames, cold plunges in fresh rivers, aspens turning gold in October, the way the desert smells after a rain in Moab. We’re grateful for our members and guests who show up to experience these places with the same reverence we feel for them.

The adventure is worth protecting. Let’s protect it together.
