36 Hours in Breckenridge this Summer

There’s nothing better than summertime in the mountains. Get your fill of fresh high country air, peaks painted in wildflowers and adrenaline-fueled activities. When the day winds down, retreat to your private oasis at Gravity Haus Breckenridge.

With so much to see and experience, we wanted to give you a head start. Here’s our go at the ultimate summer Breckenridge itinerary:

HERE'S WHAT TO DO WITH 36 HOURS IN BRECKENRIDGE THIS SUMMER!

Day 1 Afternoon

Check in to Gravity Haus Breck and set up camp at the base of Peak 9. Get the lay of the land and explore your stunning cabin-chic surroundings. Lounge in the impeccably decorated lodge and grab an iced chai from Unravel Coffee downstairs. Chill on the front deck positioned along Park Avenue and offering up some of town’s best people-watching.

Book bounce time on the SuperTramp and get sky high. Pro athletes are known to perfect their twists and flips on the special trampoline (find it on the third floor’s hidden deck).

Set yourself up for success tomorrow. Reserve the latest badass gear from Haus Quiver — state-of-the-art paddleboards, foldable kayaks, mountain bikes and more await.

Day 1 Evening

Work out the travel kinks in a Bhava Yoga class just around the corner from Gravity Haus. Try stand-up paddleboard yoga on Maggie Pond or go full-on reboot in a mellow restorative class.

Afterwards, book some zen hot tub, sauna and cold plunge time in Gravity Haus’ Japanese inspired onsen.

Day 1 Night

Check out the Breckenridge Arts District in the center of town. Take a pottery class, walk the open studios, catch live music or a bike-in movie. Or take a self-guided public art sculpture tour. Another option for live music, the Riverwalk Center hosts local and visiting acts spanning classical to bluegrass.

Settle in to your mod quarters and rest easy in a curated selection of eco-friendly natural amenities that include heavenly WinkBed mattresses, plush Parachute synthetic-free linens, EO organic body and bath products and ultra luxe robes.

Day 2 Morning

After a glorious night’s rest, walk the pup along the Blue River and take in the quiet summer morning under a magnificent blue sky. Early a.m. is a serene scene in Breck. Go-getters: Now is the time to get an alpine start and beat crowds to popular trailheads and waterfall hikes. Mohawk Lakes, McCullough Gulch and Quandary Mountain are all big hits just south of town.

Order in coffee and Brecky sandwiches from Cabin Juice. The sustainably sourced beans are roasted in-haus and the bacon, egg and cheese breakfast sandwich is farm sourced and made fresh.

Explore the peaks surrounding Breckenridge and hike Baldy Mountain, Peak 9 or wind through the trail system above Carter Park. If it’s Sunday, hit the farmer’s market just down the block in Main Street Station.

Day 2 Afternoon

Mountain biking trails are epic in Breck and they’re right out the backdoor at Gravity Haus. Bike the Burro Trail, Aspen Alley or Barney Ford for a network of thrilling mild to wild singletrack.

Have lunch by the river. Grab to-go deli subs from Breckenridge Deli, tacos from Sancho or salads from Blue River Bistro and spread out on the Riverwalk lawn.

Log some serious family time on Peak 8 at Epic Discovery via the free gondola from town. Laugh and squeal on the Gold Run roller coaster, zipline, bungee trampoline and the famous alpine slide. Pan for gold or take a scenic chairlift ride up to hike among marmots and a sea of purple and yellow flowers.

Adventuring sans kids? Book a guided fly fishing tour with Mountain Anglers. If golf is your thing, Breckenridge boasts three nine-hole Jack Nicklaus championship courses.

Day 2 Evening

Walk Main Street, shop, sip and nab souvenirs for friends and family. Swap fish tales or stories from the trail over happy hour at Cabin Juice. Do like the locals and dig into après snacks such as fried zucchini, Korean chicken wings and grass-fed burgers.

As the sun heads behind the Ten Mile Range, bike to the Broken Compass or the Breckenridge Distillery on Airport Road. These lively watering holes are always a good time and fantastic bike-to destinations.
