Snow Report: Ski Resorts are Opening and Snow is Falling

Here’s the latest on ski resorts, trail conditions and snowfall.

Ski resort chairlifts across Colorado and California are fired up and spinning for the season, celebrating earlier-than-planned opening dates thanks to loads of fresh snowfall! STAY: GRAVITY HAUS VAIL

Ski: Vail Ski Resort is open; Copper Mountain is open; Beaver Creek opens November 21, 2022

Snow: Vail is reporting 25 inches of powder after receiving 11 fresh inches the week of November 13. Copper Mountain is reporting 20 inches of machine groomed snow and received 7 inches of new snow this week.

Winter Must: Dryland Fitness & Spa Vail is unbeatable for snow sports recovery. Pamper sore muscles with a Dryland Spa treatment, zen out in the hot tubs, cold tubs, sauna and salt lounge and delve into additional onsite recovery modalities.

STAY: GRAVITY HAUS WINTER PARK

Ski: Winter Park is open and Mary Jane opening is TBD.

Snow: Winter Park is reporting 18 inches of machine made snow and received 7 inches of new fresh snow this week.

Winter Must: Dryland Winter Park is chock full of restorative offerings perfect for blissed-out après ski sessions. Follow up a yoga or meditation class with a soak in the outdoor hot tubs and some time in the steam, dry sauna and cold plunge. Revive tired legs with onsite Normatec Boots and Hypervolt percussion devices.

STAY: GRAVITY HAUS BRECKENRIDGE

Ski: Breckenridge Ski Resort, Keystone, A-Basin and Copper Mountain are all open.

Snow: Breck is reporting 19 inches of packed pow after receiving 13 fresh inches the week of November 13. Keystone has 18 inches of machine groomed snow with an additional 6 inches joining this week. A-Basin is reporting 19 inches of machine groomed snow and 2 inches of fresh this week. Copper is crushing it with 20 inches of machine groomed snow and 7 new inches.

Winter Must: Take some fresh gear out for a spin around the mountain. STAY: GRAVITY HAUS TRUCKEE-TAHOE

Ski: Palisades Tahoe, Northstar, Heavenly and Kirkwood are all open

Snow: Palisades and Northstar are both kicking off the season with a 22-inch base, Heavenly is rocking 20 inches of machine made and Kirkwood has a 16-inch base so far. 

Winter Must: Gravity Haus’ adventure outpost rests in the award-winning Cedar House Sport Hotel in Truckee. Onsite gathering spot Stella is a winter refuel requisite serving up seasonal nods to Mexican, Middle Eastern and Mediterranean cuisines.

STAY: GRAVITY HAUS STEAMBOAT

Ski: Steamboat Ski Resort is open

Snow: Steamboat has received 13 inches of pow in the last 8 days.

Winter Must: Gravity Haus is rebranding the slopeside Ptarmigan Inn and will open a sweet new ski-in/ski-out bar and restaurant inside the hotel this season. Grab a thoughtfully crafted winter cocktail and take in the scene from a fireside seat on the deck.

VISIT: GRAVITY HAUS ASPEN (Coming in 2023!)

Ski: Aspen Mountain and Snowmass are open; Aspen Highlands opens December 10, 2022; Buttermilk opens December 17, 2022

Snow: Aspen is rolling into the season with a 20-inch base and 6 inches of fresh this week. Snowmass is enjoying a 22-inch base with 6 inches of new snow.

Winter Must: Head to Unravel Aspen (open THIS December) for a warm, inviting local scene. Expect live music, locally sourced après plates and brews and a pet-friendly heated patio just a few blocks away from the base of Aspen Mountain.
