FALL MOUNTAIN BIKING IN VAIL

Trail: Sidekick | Rated: Beginner/Intermediate

This newer flow trail gradually drops 1,000 exhilarating feet from the top of Gondola One. (Use the bike haul if lifts are running or huff it to the top.) Traverse the front of Vail mountain and connect to fun, fast and flowy Golden Gate while you cruise through bright yellow aspen and beautiful fragrant fir stands.

Trail: Haymaker Trail | Rated: Intermediate

Ride like a champ—this trail was professionally built to host the Colorado High School Cycling League State Championships—on this sunny, accessible track. In the nearby up-and-comer MTB hub of Eagle, Haymaker features earn-it climbs, rock bridges, banking berms and whooping rollers and jumps. Look out over the valley’s changing colors for full-send fall vibes.

Trail: Meadow Mountain | Rated: Intermediate/Difficult

Find yourself smiling and sweating among towering aspen and iconic peaks on this must-see loop. Climb an incredible 2,000-plus feet until you arrive at the historic cabin and then begin your technical descent down Whiskey Creek before looping back on Everkrisp singletrack.

FALL MOUNTAIN BIKING IN BRECKENRIDGE

Trail: Aspen Alley | Rated: Intermediate

With a name like this, you know you’re in for a treat. Peep spectacular leaves and sweeping mountain views while you giddily bank berms and rip flowy switchbacks down this legendary fall trail. Shuttle a car to the top and enjoy this downhill treat. Or park at the ice rink on Boreas Pass Road and bike to the top before whipping back down.

Trail: Bakers Tank Loop | Rated: Intermediate

Immerse yourself in a glowing tunnel of beautiful gold and orange along Boreas Pass Road before dipping into the forest and flying down Bakers Tank on this thrilling loop. Stop for gilded selfies along Boreas where the Ten Mile Range opens up in all its autumn splendor.

Trail: Upper Flume | Rated: Intermediate

Ride historic mining flumes along this intricate network of locally loved singletrack. Dip in and out of forested shade and aspen canopies as you come up Lower Flume and connect to Mike’s Trail and Upper Flume. Tack on Slalom for a screaming zippy big banked downhill addition.

FALL MOUNTAIN BIKING IN WINTER PARK

Trail: Rendezvous | Rated: Intermediate

This intricate wooded trail system delivers you to killer views of Winter Park Resort and the aspen-loaded valley below. Rendezvous is a quintessential tour of this mountain biking mecca’s diverse landscape. Intersect with meadows, rollers, bridges and creeks while you challenge yourself with climbs, rocks and roots.

Trail: Tipperary Spruce Flume | Rated: Intermediate

Ride through thick aspen groves and meadows with jaw-dropping views on this Northern Fraser Valley trail system fave. Start on the easy meadow expanse of Givelo Trail and turn onto Tipperary where you’ll pass through dense forest and cross a splashy creek. Climbs, switchbacks, ponds, loose rock and twisty flows keep things interesting.

Trail: Rogers Pass | Rated: Difficult

Get high along the Continental Divide for aerial above-treeline views of James Peak, Perry Peak and neighboring mountain ranges. Your lungs and legs will enjoy a kickass workout on the climb and the descent will leave you breathless with beauty overlooking Winter Park Resort, Mary Jane and Indian Peaks Wilderness Area.
