5 Ways to Spring Clean Your Body and Mind Outside

Find mind-body balance and healing in nature this spring.

We could all use a full-body spring clean. This lulling time in the mountains between spring and summer is perfect for dusting off mental and physical cobwebs and reawakening your senses. Here are our top adventures and activities for a mindful spring reset.

Here are 5 Ways to Spring Clean Your Body and Mind Outside:

1. Forest Bathe

Reconnect with Mother Nature by spending some quality time in the woods, breathing in the tree and earth energy. Walking in the forest is a proven way to calm your nervous system, reduce stress and find that centered grounding feeling our bodies crave. Try to carve out 20 minutes a day to walk among greenery and reset.

2. Spend Time Near Water

Rivers, lakes and oceans are natural mind and body healers. Sitting with and absorbing the rhythm of water and its soothing waves and ripples is a wonderful way to spring clean. Book a Costa Rican surf getaway, head to Truckee-Tahoe and SUP on crystal clear mountain lakes or explore Colorado rivers as they swell with glorious snowmelt.

3. Set New Moon Intentions

The full moon occurred on April 16 and the new moon will happen on April 30. These powerful moon phases are excellent opportunities to set intentions for the rest of the year and to let go of things that no longer physically or mentally serve you. Bonus outdoor spring cleaning points if you set these intentions while skinning, hiking or camping under the light of the moon or the new moon’s blank slate.

4. Check Something off Your List

Gather up your courage and gusto and finally tackle that backpacking trip, 14er climb, overnight rafting journey or long-distance bike ride. There’s a healthy sense of accomplishment when you check something big off of your outdoor adventures list. Get the momentum flowing and ride the feel-good vibes into Colorado’s summer outdoor adventure season.

5. Discover New Ground

Stretch your legs and spring clean your energy on some fresh horizons with Gravity Haus as your basecamp. Roam trails around Breckenridge. Golf and bike in Winter Park. Fish the rivers and streams near Vail. Or visit one of our partner properties in Telluride, Silverton, Moab and beyond. Connect with like-minded people at the end of the day in the hot tubs or over patio cocktails.

Happy spring cleaning! We’ll see you on the trail.
