Snow & Spring Break, Travel to Tahoe!

The best spring events, meet-ups, Truckee-Tahoe skiing and bucket list adventures.

Embrace the sunny spring skiing scene from spring break to closing day with these Truckee-Tahoe events and self-guided adventures.

Spring Fun on the Mountain

Intense late-winter storms are setting Truckee-Tahoe mountain resorts up for deep spring skiing and extended seasons that may stretch through Memorial Day. (Palisades Tahoe announced in February it will stay open through Memorial Day, and possibly longer, weather and conditions permitting.)

Deep spring snow pro tip: Check into Gravity Haus Truckee-Tahoe and nab some powder skis or backcountry gear from Haus Quiver. Hotel guests and Gravity Haus members with Haus Quiver access can use the Gravity Haus app to browse and reserve gear, then pick-up and drop-off the equipment at HQ Truckee-Tahoe.

Spring skiing at Heavenly, Northstar, Palisades and surrounding resorts is filled with DJs spinning live music from snow cats and mountain decks, terrain park jams, pond skims, après patio fun and — when the temps rise — afternoons spent on the lake and evenings biking along the Truckee River.

Bring your bikini and swim trunks, your favorite ski onesie and a solid sense of adventure. At Palisades, hit the upper mountain banked slalom spots that crop up in the springtime (find them off of Siberia or Shirley). Hit the sun decks to find out why Palisades notched the lead title as The Spring Skiing Capital®. Take time to drink in the blue jeweled spring views from the top of Heavenly — South Lake Tahoe is home to the largest alpine lake in North America — and treat your crew to ice skating and Village tubing at Northstar.
