Event Overview
About the Event: Join coach Blake Gould for a day filled with ice fishing on Sylvan Lake! Whether you’re a beginner or an avid fisher, Blake will help walk you through ice fishing and any tips and tricks you may need to know. We will provide the fishing pole and all additional fishing equipment.
Depending on the weather, consider wearing base layers with snow pants, snow boots with good traction (can even bring yak tracks if you want), a warm jacket, beanie and warm gloves. Also remember to bring sunscreen, plenty of water or beverage of your choice and snacks!
Something to note: Bring or Buy a Fishing License! Every participant MUST have a fishing license, or you will not be allowed to fish. You can purchase a one-day license here for $14.23. It takes a second to get these mailed, but as long as you have your license # (we suggest taking a screenshot of your confirmation email), if a Ranger inquires, they can look you up.
About Blake: Blake has been the fitness director of VAC and now Dryland for 8 years. This job brought his family to Vail from Austin in 2014. Blake has a 6 year old daughter and taught her how to fish when she was just 18 months old. She loves being on the water or ice, fishing with her dad.
Blake has been fishing since he was a young kid and grew up on the water too. Whether it is fishing or hunting, he lives and breathes being an outdoorsman. Blake loves everything about fishing! Although her didn’t begin ice fishing until he moved to Colorado, it might just be his favorite.
