About the event: One appeal of outdoor adventure is that you get to unplug and time and adventure away from the city. Sometimes these amazing places are quite remote which means you’re farther from emergency responders and urgent medical care. Because of this, you need to build the skills to be more capable and self-sufficient. One major component of that is an understanding of wilderness first aid.

A vast majority of incidents outdoors are minor and easily treatable. When providing aid in the wilderness, most of the time your goal is to keep a condition from worsening so you can continue with your adventure.

Join Jason Antin for an evening overview of Wilderness First aid considerations! We’ll discuss the basic Med kit for the outdoors and considerations when planning a trip. Jason will also discuss the basics of entering a wilderness medical emergency. Teach the patient assessment and discuss common injuries that’s he’s seen and experienced over a lifetime working and playing in the mountains!

Jason Antin currently works as a Professional Mountain Guide. He’s a Certified AMGA Rock Guide, Wilderness EMT, Wilderness First Responder and active member of the Colorado Search and Rescue teams.
