Meet the Gravity Haus Truckee-Tahoe Team

Get to know the team that makes the Gravity Haus Truckee-Tahoe wheels go ‘round

When Gravity Haus rebranded the Cedar House Sport Hotel in Truckee, we put together the best crew around to run the California boutique. Gravity Haus Truckee-Tahoe is centrally situated between Palisades Tahoe, Northstar California and the shores of Lake Tahoe, naturally serving up ridiculous amounts of outdoor adventure and breathtaking mountain beauty.
Members and guests savor 42 cozy rooms outfitted with Gravity Haus partner products, lush linens and stylish décor, along with a Dryland Fitness gym and recovery amenities, co-working space and a locally loved restaurant and lounge!
Meet the dream team that makes it all happen:

Gravity Haus Truckee-Tahoe General Manager Adam Kaufman

Adam graduated from the University of Vermont with a degree in business and has worked in hospitality ever since. Ski resorts to summer camp, he has dipped his toes in all types of outdoor adventure fun.
Adam launched his career with Gravity Haus last October after being recruited by his sister Dana Kaufman, who helps lead the Gravity Haus member success team. He relocated to Truckee from Vermont and is loving his GM gig at Gravity Haus Truckee-Tahoe.
“As the general manager, I am responsible for all facets of the hotel and restaurant operations,” Adam says. “I love interacting with our guests and hearing all of the positive things they have to say about both our team as well as their experiences in the Truckee-Tahoe area.”
When Adam isn’t on property, he’s outside staying active, skiing one of the many local resorts around Lake Tahoe or backcountry snowmobiling.
Touting an impressive resume with degrees in business management and finance, outdoor adventure leadership and hospitality resort management and design, Stefan’s career has earned him titles in mountain safety management, lift operations, bike park operations, and mountain operations. He caps his experience off with more than a decade in hotel leadership and management.
Stefan moved to the area in 2010 to attend college and fell hard for mountain life, kicking off his Gravity Haus career in December 2022. He directs all aspects of hotel operations, including the front desk and concierge, bar, housekeeping, engineering, revenue management, quality control, training front of house staff, finance reporting, and guest experience innovation.

Gravity Haus Truckee-Tahoe Operations Director Stefan Moore

“With staffing challenges you will find me in the trenches often, serving or bussing at Stella, working the bar, working the front desk, shoveling snow and working through maintenance projects,” Stefan says.
On his days off, he can be found seeking out couloirs and big backcountry lines in the high Sierra, chasing glory lines in the chutes at Mt. Rose, or cruising groomers, side hits, and jumping cat tracks with my brother and front office manager Greyson. In the summertime, Stefan is backpacking the Sierras, trail running, ripping downhill mountain bikes and, of course, enjoying the California sun on the beach of Lake Tahoe sipping on a juicy hazy IPA.

STELLA INSIDE GRAVITY HAUS TRUCKEE-TAHOE EXECUTIVE CHEF CHRIS WATKINS

Executive Chef Chris Watkins took the helm at Stella inside Gravity Haus Truckee-Tahoe in November 2022, bringing with him decades of experience and innovation. Chris shapes the progressive menu experience with regionally sourced seafood, ranch fare, California produce and surprise elements.
He works closely with his team of three chefs to cultivate the menu at Stella, one that begins with smaller bites to share among loved ones and leads into premium beef, seafood and vegetarian plates paired with an impressive worldly wine list, playful brews and creative desserts. His menu imparts a distinct California-meets-Mediterranean flair.
Chris studied at Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts in Portland and interned at a restaurant in Switzerland before spending the next decade honing his craft in San Francisco at restaurants like Coi by famed chef Daniel Patterson and the coveted mod-French Jardiniere. The father of two has made Truckee-Tahoe his home for the last 12 years and spends his free time chasing powder.
