OUR COMMUNITY CONNECTS AUTHENTICALLY
Gravity Haus connects people who see the world as an incredible playground. We help the planet by traveling, recreating and growing with others while and learning along the way. We believe if we’re enhancing your active lifestyle, one experience at a time, then we’re doing it right. Community first, everything else will follow.
JEN RAZEE
dryland fitness + spa vail director
Razee brings serious light and drive to the Gravity Haus community. When she’s not working, the Walla Walla, Washington native is a mother and triathlon rockstar. Razee, is a certified strength and conditioning specialist who has qualified for and competed in multiple triathlon world championships, including the Kona Ironman. She won age-group world titles in XTERRA and ITU off road triathlons and was named USA triathlon’s off road age group triathlete of the year in 2019.
After signing up for her first road sprint Danskin triathlon in 2000, racing with a farmer john hot pink waterski wetsuit and using basket pedals on a thrift bike with knobby tires, she was hooked.
“I finished at the back of the pack and cried at the finish line,” Razee says. “I was hooked on the personal challenge, collective feeling of accomplishment and alignment of a supportive community.”
Here, we chat with Razee about work, life and words of wisdom:
Q. What do you love about your job?
A. Making a difference for people. They should leave more inspired and better than when they arrived.
Q. Mantra you live by?
A. “Though she be but little, she is fierce.” Shakespeare. If I am in, I’m all-in.
Q. Words of wisdom for triathlon racing hopefuls?
A. Consistency is king. Keep making incremental gains year over year. Hire a coach if possible and get a bike fit. Surround yourself with people who make you better and hold you accountable!
Q. What do you strive for?
A. Improvement, being open to the challenge, having a heart full of gratitude everyday.
Q. Favorite adventures?
A. Anything on two wheels with friends. I rode Monarch Crest with friends last summer and completed my first 50-miler mountain bike on the dirt at the Firecracker 50 race in Breck this past summer.
Q. Favorite Gravity Haus membership perk?
A. Dryland access, of course! As I’ve aged, I have committed to regular strength training; lifting heavy in the off season and keeping a maintenance session once a week even during my competitive season. I’m also super excited about our member events. I led our Adopt a Trail program this summer and loved seeing our members outside of the gym. Giving back in the places we love to play and getting out in nature with our community members fills my cup.
Q. Piece of gear you couldn’t live without?
A. My Yeti ASR mountain bike. It is always better the minute I get out on a trail with my ride.
