Why you need to go to the Island in the Sky!
Put the icing on a fabulous September at our Grand Mesa summer camp. The Gravity Haus 13-week run at Electric Mountain Lodge continues through September 27, 2021, welcoming guests to the dreamy private property for guided geology hikes, fly fishing, mountain biking, yoga, starry nights around the fire and So. Much. More.
Need more convincing? Here are the can’t-miss highlights:
The Blissed-Out Location: Our seven four-person domed glamping tents are tucked into golden fall aspen stands near Electric Mountain Lodge. The remote property sits at 9,200 feet with access to more than 300,000 forested acres. The kicker: This is the gateway to Grand Mesa National Forest and The Grand Mesa, a.k.a. Colorado’s impressive Island in the Sky. The geographic wonder was carved by volcanic activity over 10 million years ago, leaving us with insanely gorgeous lakes, rivers and climbing features.
The Farm Food: To fuel up for your daily adventures, take a short stroll to the Electric Mountain Lodge restaurant, where farm-to-table meals are sourced from Western Colorado gardens and ranches. Menu highlights include hearty farmer’s breakfasts, roasted beet and chevre bruschetta, striped bass and a red curry chicken with seasonal veggies.
The Mental Break: Remote camping means bring your four-wheel drive and click your wifi into airplane mode. This is your end-of-summer opportunity to unplug and reconnect with nature. Bring your pup, your besties and your partner. Leave the stress, deadlines and commitments.
The Cozy Digs: Snuggle up to s’mores by the group fire pit or soak in the hot tub and look for shooting stars. Each Gravity Haus dome sleeps four on their own individual cots. No one else will be assigned to your tent, only those you register with. Think of it as your pop-up hotel room. And pack light—we’ll provide the camping chairs, lanterns, Bluetooth speakers, Unravel coffee stations and other comforts.
The Adventures: This isn’t the summer camp from your childhood! We’ll be summiting Crater Peak, reeling in cutthroat trout, mountain biking Colorado’s newest extreme trail (The Plunge!), kayaking the Gunnison River and touring and tasting our way through Western Slope wineries. All activities are optional, of course.
