The 2021–22 winter ski season is coming in hot. Stoke is high, flakes are flying and we can’t wait to get out there and rip it with you! Here’s your complete rundown of how to spend opening weekend in Breckenridge, from first chair to last call.
Celebrate the Season
Breckenridge Ski Resort winter operations launch Friday, November 12 when Peak 8 comes alive with skiers, boarders, freshly groomed runs and festive vibes. Breck is celebrating its 60th anniversary, beginning with the annual Wake Up Breck event on November 11. Attendees will receive a free 60th anniversary coffee mug, cup of coffee and waffles compliments of Breckenridge Ski Resort. New this year, mugs and waffles will be handed out during a ribbon cutting in the plaza in front of the South Gondola Parking Structure. Guests will then take their mug to a designated participating coffee shop any time on November 11 to get a free cup of coffee at participating coffee shops.
Exact details on terrain and lifts running for opening day have yet to be announced. But, in usual opening weekend tradition, Peak 8 will be home base for all the fun.
Commemorating 60 years of Breck, the resort will open the brand-new Freedom SuperChair on Peak 7 in early December when terrain is ready. The new lift is said to be a game-changer for the Peak 7 experience, improving navigation between Peaks 6, 7, and 8.
The resort is planning to stay open through Memorial Day 2022 (as weather and conditions permit). Do your snow dances this year and let’s manifest a deep, powdery 60th season at Breck!
