Q. What is your role within the Gravity Haus community?
A. I am the Operations Manager for Haus Quiver, our premium gear rental benefit to members. This means that I do everything from managing inventory, retail and the program as a whole, all the way to setting up backcountry equipment in our Breckenridge Gravity Haus location.
Q. How did you land in Summit County?
A. I moved to Breck 5 years ago, right after I graduated college. I started working in a local ski and bike rental/repair shop and eventually landed a job with Faction Skis, running their customer service and direct sales programs. This took me on a short hiatus from Breck, when I moved to Denver for about 9 months, but I couldn’t stay away and moved back up, accepting my current job with Gravity Haus.
Q. What are your favorite adventures?
A. My favorite type of adventure is one that gets me outside doing what I love. Spending the day on the resort skiing, getting out in the backcountry, long days riding bikes — it’s all great. Add in a bit of type-2 fun to make you hate it a bit on the way — who actually likes climbing up a huge hill? — and that’s the ideal day outside. And then having a well-deserved après beer afterwards is always a great reward.
Q. Favorite Gravity Haus membership perk?
A. The Haus Quiver program! As somebody that is a bit of a gear head and (admittedly) owns way too many skis, bikes, climbing gear, hiking equipment, etc., I really see the benefit of Haus Quiver. Having access to so much equipment, without both having to actually pay for all of it up front and then store and maintain it in the long run, is a huge plus, and will really shake up the conventional concept of needing to own everything in order to get out and go do something.
Q. Piece of gear you couldn’t live without?
A. Le Mono from Faction skis. Especially on a season like this has been so far, mono skiing has been a great way to still have fun on the resort with limited terrain open. And it’s just quirky enough that you get some weird looks, but isn’t too ridiculous.
