About This Trip
Janet’s Cabin, the first ever built for the Summit Huts Association, will be your basecamp during this gorgeous early-summer adventure. Situated at 11,610 feet, Janet’s Cabin sits at the head of Guller Creek about halfway between Copper Mountain and Vail Pass. Built in 1990, the three-story cabin honors Janet Boyd Tyler, who was an avid skier and who passed on St. Patrick’s Day, 1988.
After hiking nearly 7 miles on day one, kick off your hiking boots an unwind with dinner courtesy of Slope Room (no dehydrated potatoes for you), before gazing at the stars from the deck, or popping inside the wonderful wood-heated sauna behind the cabin. It feels good all year long since summer evenings cool off quite a bit from the heat of the day.
The next morning, enjoy breakfast and coffee before heading out on a guided day-hike to one of the many alpine lakes surrounding the cabin. Dinner will again be from Slope Room.
On the final morning, after more caffeine and calories at the breakfast table, you’ll make the journey back to the trailhead, to mark the completion of your trek. We’ll then shuttle you back to your vehicle for the drive home.
Huts are almost completely sold out for this season, so grab your spot!
