Event Overview
About the Event: Are you interested in backpacking in either a group or solo, but still need more information before you get on the trail? This workshop is created for folks who are new to overnight trips. You’ll learn which gear to bring, which food to pack, how to pack your pack, how to work through various fears about getting on trail, plus everything in between. You’ll get all the tools you need for feeling more confident, knowledgeable, and comfortable backpacking.
About Carly Moree: Carly Moree is the Founder & Owner of Rocky Mountain Hiking Company, one of the few female-owned guided day hiking and backpacking companies in the United States. She was the first woman to attempt a 3-day hike/run of the 223-mile John Muir Trail/Nüümü Poyo, is the co-author of the popular thru-hiking book Pacific Crest Trials, and has hiked and run more than 10,000 miles on trails around the U.S. including running across the Grand Canyon and back in one day and the Pacific Crest Trail 1.5 times. Many miles have been in the dark, solo.
