Bravo Music Festival—NY Philharmonic: SLATKIN CONDUCTS TCHAIKOVSKY

July 26, 2022 @ 11:00 am - 2:15 pm

Join me on the lawn at Ford Amphitheater for the penultimate night of the 35th season of the bravo music festival this summer, with the New York Philharmonic. This is a great way to experience classical music in the Vail Valley!
We will meet up at 5 PM to go in as a group and save our spots on the lawn. You can bring a low rise chair or rent one at the venue. Drinks and food are also available for purchase at the venue. You can bring food in with you, but no alcoholic drinks can be brought in. Please review the information on bravo vail.org for complete details.
Each participant must buy their own lawn (GA) ticket for the concert in advance through bravovail.org
The concerts start at 6 PM and are usually over by 8 PM. Typically there is a short intermission in the middle.
Details for the performance and tickets at bravovail.org
Here’s the published program for Tuesday:
ORCHESTRA CONCERT
SLATKIN CONDUCTS TCHAIKOVSKY
? Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater
New York Philharmonic
Leonard Slatkin, conductor
W. Chichester McClean III, special guest conductor
Zlatomir Fung, cello
ROSSINI Finale from Overture to William Tell
TCHAIKOVSKY Romeo and Juliet Fantasy Overture
TCHAIKOVSKY Variations on a Rococo Theme, Op. 33
TCHAIKOVSKY Symphony No. 5 in E minor, Op. 64
Tchaikovsky’s splendid Variations on a Rococo Theme, featuring gorgeous sonorities of the cello, are full of subtle homages to Mozart, and the symmetry and grace of an idealized 18th century. The Romantic era makes a riveting return with the emotionally charged and melodically rich Symphony No. 5.
All artists, programs, and pricing are subject to change.
